Professional Invoicing Without the Monthly SaaS Subscription
FreshBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero — invoicing and accounting platforms that charge monthly regardless of how many invoices you send. For a small Cumbrian business sending 20-30 invoices per month, the invoicing functionality of these platforms represents a disproportionate cost for what is actually a relatively simple business requirement.
The Invoice Management plugin gives you professional invoice creation, client management, and payment tracking within your existing WordPress admin. No monthly subscription. No separate login. Your financial data stays on your server.
How the Invoice Management Plugin Works
Six features covering the full invoice creation, sending, and payment tracking workflow.

Your Financial Data Stays on Your Server
Every major invoicing and accounting SaaS platform processes your financial data on servers outside your control — and in many cases outside the UK. Your client names, their addresses, the amounts they owe you, and your business revenue figures are all processed and stored by a third-party company whose terms of service and data practices you are agreeing to when you sign up.
The Invoice Management plugin stores all financial data in your WordPress database, on your hosting server. Your client data and your financial records stay under your control. No third-party SaaS company has access to your business financial information.
This plugin is not a replacement for full accountancy software if your business requires VAT returns, payroll, or complex financial reporting. It is a replacement for the invoicing and debtor management functionality of accountancy platforms for businesses whose primary need is sending professional invoices and tracking who has paid — without paying a monthly subscription for features they do not use.
Fixed Price. Written Specification. You Own the Code.
Every plugin we build starts with a written specification. Every feature, every data flow, every integration documented before we write a line of code. The price is fixed against that specification — not an estimate that grows as the project develops.
Your custom-built work is yours on delivery. The code, the database, the documentation. No platform dependency. If you want another developer to extend it in the future, you have everything they need. We write to professional WordPress coding standards and document as we go — not as an afterthought at project end.
We stay involved after launch. Bug fixes for issues arising from our code are covered for an initial period after delivery. For ongoing feature development, WordPress version compatibility updates, and extended support, we offer retainers or ad-hoc arrangements — whatever suits your business. Most software evolves after initial delivery, and we build long-term relationships with clients.

Invoice Management in WordPress — Why It Makes Sense for Small Businesses
Most small businesses in Cumbria use one of three invoicing approaches: a dedicated invoicing SaaS (FreshBooks, Xero, QuickBooks), an Excel or Google Sheets template, or their accountant's system. All three have costs — monthly SaaS subscriptions run from £12 to £40 per month, spreadsheets require manual data entry and error checking, and accountant-managed invoicing creates a bottleneck every time you need to issue or chase an invoice. Our Invoice Management Plugin offers a fourth option: professional invoicing built directly into your WordPress admin, with no monthly subscription, no data leaving your server, and a client management interface that integrates with the website you already operate.
The plugin handles the full invoice lifecycle: quote to invoice conversion, automated payment reminders at configurable intervals, overdue flagging, payment recording, and financial reporting by client, service type, and period. If you have a handful of regular clients — the typical situation for a Cumbrian freelancer, consultant, or small service business — the plugin provides everything you need without the overhead of a full accounts system. For businesses that need their invoicing to integrate with Xero or QuickBooks, we can build that integration as part of the plugin setup.
Client financial data — invoice amounts, payment status, overdue history — sits on your own server, behind your WordPress admin login. It is not held by a SaaS provider whose data security practices you have to trust, whose pricing you cannot control, and whose platform you cannot export from without losing history. Your invoicing data belongs to you, stored where you control it.
